Three

discourse is the use of fixed expression or routines which often have specific
function in conversations and which give conversational discourse the quality
of naturalness. Example: this one me, I don’t get the point, let me think about
it, tell me in your own words. implications for teaching: talk as interactions
how to open and close conversations, making small tells, giving feedback,
asking one or two follow up questions could help prepare students to interact. THIRD, implication for teaching talk as
transaction talk for sharing, obtaining information, carrying, out real world transaction:
information gap activities, role play, simulations, brainstorming, etc. FOURTH implication for teaching talk
as performance models of speeches, analyzed or deconstructed, prepare own text,
presentation.
